simple life

May 19 2009

One of the reasons I love to create gifts for kids is that thinking outside the box is a requirement.  Actually, there isn’t even a box in sight when it comes to the way kids think and dream, and that’s strikes me as a very good thing.  Sitting on the sidewalk with my daughter, drawing with some very cool 3-D chalk was a simple way to pass a sunny afternoon.   Her enthusiam was heartwarming  and her focus on her drawings, absolute. She wasn’t afraid to get down and dirty on the sidewalk, colouring herself and everything in sight to express her creativity and then proudly showing off her work to anyone who walked by.   It was a gentle reminder to me that as adults we often try to multi-task our lives until we’re doing so many tasks, we can’t fully enjoy any of them, much less feel proud of our accomplishments.  Slowing down, enjoying the moment and keeping life simple - in other words, living like our children do, is perhaps one of the best gifts we can give ourselves and our chilren.

Father’s Day gifts

May 15 2009

This year we’ve come up with a sizzling hot Father’s Day gift for the special dad in your life!

We’ve taken our popular Sports Kids, cleaned them up, added a love-filled message to dad and put them on either an apron or t-shirt.  The responses we’ve had to our samples ranged from  “That’s SO cool!” to “Ahhhh, that is so sweet, I need to get one.” to “I’m getting one for my brother, I know he’s going to love it!”.   Click here to see more of our great gift idea!

This summer while the burgers are sizzling, dad can be ‘queing in style in his “i love daddy”  apron!
